Prison administrators, a job never on my “wish list”.

Ah Hao, a former potential Taekwondo champion, retired due to injury and fell into gambling and debt. Now he’s compelled to work undercover for his creditors in the prison. Jiang Yi Jie, a seasoned insider, only cares about promotions and follows a rigid approach. Blunt social worker Jie Yu always finishes work on the dot, disdainful of prisoners’ troubles. Law graduate Yu Zai keeps failing exams and just wants to make ends meet. Tan Tou, who recently returned from working abroad, is compelled to work to pay the rent. Xiao Hui works in her hometown with a smile, yet carries undisclosed worries.

These rookies in the workplace, are immediately confronted with shocking experiences: getting beaten during riots, being sprayed with excrement during body searches, and having inmates attempt suicide halfway through counseling sessions. They initially thought working in a prison would be easy and commanding, but they soon realize they have to grovel to their superiors and be polite to the prisoners. Even inmates have higher status than them.

The rigid system challenges these newcomers daily. Through friendship and a longing for love, they support one another, hold onto their beliefs, and strive to endure.
