During summer break, high schooler Beyond is pulled away from his dating app and back to Keelung after his grandfather Ah-Yuan, who has dementia, gets injured. When asked to write a funeral couplet, Ah-Yuan is reminded of his late wife—and old regrets resurface. A taste of braised dried tofu sparks a flood of memories.

The next morning, Ah-Yuan vanishes. Beyond and childhood friend Xiaoxiang track him down on a journey to find his first love, Xiumei. Though her herbal shop is now a claw machine arcade, Ah-Yuan clings to the past. Moved, the two teens join him on a road trip through memory and mountains.
